Note: Calculators are allowed in module I. However, cell phone calculators or calculators with communication capabilities are not allowed on any module exam. Bring your own scientific calculator to the exams.
Some formulas you need to know (memorize) for the homework and test:
Pythagorean Theorem:
Rectangle: Perimeter is the sum of all sides, Area = (length)x(width)
Triangle: Perimeter is the sum of all sides, Area = (1/2) x (base) x (height)
Circle: Circumference or Area :
Also remember that using the approximation of 3.14 in a calculation will give you slightly different values than using the button on your calculator. The button is more accurate than 3.14 because the button uses a 9 decimal place approximation for instead of just 2 decimal places.

CALCULATOR PRACTICE :
SUBMIT ALL PROBLEMS AS ONE ASSIGNMENT
- The point of these problems is to make sure you know how to use the fraction, decimal, percent, exponent, root, and other buttons on your calculator.
- DO NOT DO THESE PROBLEMS BY HAND.
- Copy the original problem on your paper and then simply use your calculator to find the value of the expression. Write the answer down and box your answer.
- FOR EACH CALCULATOR EXERCISE BELOW, REFER TO THE TIPS ON THE GIVEN PAGES TO SEE HOW TO USE YOUR CALCULATOR.
